Gang saws are subject to galvanising in order to harden their surface layer and improve their anti-corrosion properties. Technically, chromed saws feature an enhanced hardness and improved wear resistance. This translates into longer maintenance-free runs before sharpening is necessary. Smoother surface of wood cut is an additional plus. Moreover, the chrome layer decreases adhesion of a saw, resulting in less chips adhering to its working surfaces.adhesion, resulting in less chips being adhering to its working surfaces.
