Setting
Setting is an action that determines cutting power of a band-saw. Setting means bending teeth in sequence left-right-straight in relation to the saw body. A saw teeth must be set symmetrically, otherwise running problems may appear.
Setting should begin at the height of two-thirds of the cutting edge, looking top-to-bottom. Recommended setting values, measured from the saw body to a side on a sharpened saw, should be as follows:
  • for hard and/or frozen wood: 0.3-0.4 mm
  • for soft wood: 0.5-0.7 mm
